Color Palette Contest Winners

It's time to announce the winners for our recent Color Palette Contest! And, I say winners (plural) because I have decided to feature two first place vote driven and one editor's choice! After I reviewed all of the entries that were featured, I have chosen this board as a my pick...

Although there were so many boards that I loved, I chose this one because I felt like the designer really took the challenge to a new level. She found an image that completely inspired her and she ran with it. I love the vibrancy of the color palette, the beautifully cultural approach and the infusion of different textures and patterns. Great job!

I am still working on the reader voted winner as we have had a few discrepancies with the actual voting process. This winner will be announced over the weekend! Both designers will win a $250 gift certificate to their favorite online store.

Congratulations to everyone that entered! We will be launching a new site (very soon!) and I am going to be featuring my favorite palettes in the color palette section. Plus, I am saving those that didn't make it up this round for our next color palette contest.

Real Wedding

You guys know how much I love inspiration boards. Such a great way to bring your vision into one, cohesive place. To see how an inspiration board translates into a real wedding is just about as good as it gets for me. So, when Maya sent me the pictures from her recent wedding, I swooned.

Way back in March of 2007, we created this inspiration board for Maya, who was looking for help designing her Muslim/Indian/Pakistani inspired wedding...

And THIS is how her real wedding turned out!

Congratulations Maya on an absolutely beautiful day! The vibrancy of the red color palette, the elegance of your traditional attire...everything is just so gorgeous!

Wedding Flowers by Juniper Flowers

I have one more florist to share with you today...Juniper Flowers out of Seattle. Their work is simply gorgeous. A perfect combination of modern and traditional....

I love the vibrancy of these flowers. The reds and pinks just pop, don't they? So, so pretty! Juniper has a beautiful website filled with gorgeous creations for you to check out. And if you are EVER in need of inspiration, browse through our Little Black Book...the websites from our members are just incredible.

Wedding Flowers by Petal's Edge

Another of our Little Black Book member that I am loving is Petal's Edge in Washington DC...

I love, love, love the photo of the little girl...the flowers are so pretty and girly. And that posy on the chair is just too gorgeous. Check out the Petal's Edge website for even more inspiration!

Wedding Flowers by Petal Pushers

Every now and then, I love to take a minute to brag about the incredible vendors that we have in our Little Black Book. It's a part of Style Me Pretty that I am so proud of...the vendors are all handpicked by myself and my wonderful colleague, Michelle,  by referrals from Style Me Pretty readers and industry insiders. It's really developing into a beautiful collection of some of the country's most talented vendors.

So, today, I thought that I would highlight the work of some of our Little Black Book florists! The first is Petal Pushers in Austin, Texas. I love this company....their work is completely fresh and elegant but totally approachable...

Check out the Petal Pushers website, as well as their wonderful blog for tons of ideas and inspirations!
